First off - check for viruses.  You can download software from <...

(Technical Division News/Technical Division)

Web Browsers If you haven't heard already there is a battle of the web browsers.  The browser king still is Internet Explorer (IE).  However, there are other browsers that are finding a new spot on the PC desktop. Why Switch? There are a couple reasons why you sould replace IE with a differnet browser.  The first one is security and the second one is adware and spyware.  From my personal experience with IE is that I experienced too many pop-ups and pop-unders.  I couldn't stand the fact that searching the interent seemed to be like playing a first-person-shooter.  So I set out to find an alternative.  The alternative was the Mozilla Project.  This project is open source whic...

Well a lot has changed in the technology field since then.  One of those changes is "Free Software".  Back in 1998 it wasn't hard to come by free software, but you usually had to pay for antivirus software.  Today you can get free antivirus software for non-commercial use.  All you need to do is sign up online.  Note: This software does not contain adware/spyware. So there you have it no more excuses abou...
